Selkupisch

Selkup

Zugang
The corpus includes audio recordings and their time-aligned, annotated, and glossed transcriptions of Selkup, and is accessible in version 2.0 under Open Access conditions. It was created as part of the INEL subproject Selkup (Durations: I 2016-2019 and II 2019-2021) and makes a significant contribution to the description and analysis of poorly documented indigenous languages in the northern Eurasian region. The corpus consists of texts from the archive of Angelina Ivanovna Kuzmina, which was compiled during Kuzmina's surveys between 1962 and 1977 across the entire Selkup language area. The archive was taken over by the Institute of Finno-Ugric/Uralic Studies at the University of Hamburg.
The majority of the texts in the corpus come from the handwritten section of the archive, while additional texts were transcribed and prepared based on Kuzmina's audio recordings within the INEL project. Kuzmina's audio recordings were transcribed and translated by the following Selkup speakers:

  • Irina Anatolyevna Korobeinikova, transcription and translation into Russian of audio data from the Central and Southern dialects
  • Natalya Platonovna Izhenbina, transcription and translation into Russian of audio data from the Southern dialect
  • Svetlana Nikitichna Sankevich (Kunina), oral and translation into Russian of audio data from the Northern dialect
  • Evgeniya Sergeevna Smorgunova (Irikova), oral and written transcription and translation into Russian of audio data from the Northern dialect
  • Valentina Vladimirovna Tamelkina, oral transcription and translation into Russian of audio data from the Northern dialect
Further references to contributions in the collection, transcription, and analysis of individual texts can be found in the documentation and the metadata of the corpus.

An additional entry point into the Kuzmina Archive is provided by a dashboard with search and visualization components.
